Bodenschneid

The Bodenschneid is a 1,668-metre summit in the Schlierseer Berge, part of the Mangfallgebirge range in the Bavarian Prealps, positioned between Lake Tegernsee and Lake Schliersee. From the top, hikers gain a sweeping panoramic view encompassing both lakes and the broader Prealps, with the Zugspitze and Karwendel visible on clear days. Well-marked trails lead up from Schliersee and Neuhaus through mixed mountain forest and open alpine pasture — a solid half-day hike without technical climbing demands. Compared to busier neighbouring peaks like the Wallberg, the Bodenschneid sees relatively light foot traffic, lending the summit a quieter, more solitary character.
