Also known as: Synagoge der Deutsch-Israelitischen Gemeinde am Bornplatz, Synagoge am Bornplatz, Bornplatzsynagoge Hamburg
Consecrated in 1906 as the great Neo-Romanesque main synagogue of the German-Israelite Community - one of Germany largest synagogues with 1,200 seats. Ravaged in the November pogrom of 1938 and demolished in 1939. Today Bornplatz carries an extensive ground mosaic memorial since 2024; the Hamburg Senate and federal government back its rebuilding as a symbol of Jewish life.
