Köhlgarten

The Köhlgarten is a 1,230-metre summit in the southern Black Forest, forming the central high point of the ridge between the better-known peaks of Belchen and Blauen, on the borders of Neuenweg, Wies and Müllheim in the Markgräflerland region. Its position along the main ridge makes it a natural waypoint on longer crest hikes, with clear views across the Rhine plain towards the Vosges Mountains and, on good days, the Alps. Less frequented than its neighbours, it rewards hikers with genuine mountain quiet and broad panoramas without the crowds of the more prominent Black Forest summits.
