Moco Museum

The Moco Museum on Amsterdam's Museumplein has shown modern and contemporary art since 2016 in the Villa Alsberg, a 1904 townhouse diagonally opposite the Rijksmuseum. It was founded by art dealers Lionel and Kim Logchies-Prins, who deliberately focused the collection on street art, pop art and digital art - areas barely represented in the neighbouring Van Gogh and Stedelijk Museums. Works by Banksy form the backbone, alongside Andy Warhol, Keith Haring, Yayoi Kusama, Damien Hirst and KAWS. The Moco is a private museum and has since opened branches in Barcelona and London. Visitors move through compact rooms on four floors, often featuring immersive installations and digital extensions, and typically leave within an hour - a deliberately snack-sized counterpoint to the grand neighbours on the square.
