The Berlin-Dahlem Museum Centre is a sprawling brick complex at Lansstrasse 8 in the Dahlem district. Built in several phases between 1914 and 1973, it once housed Berlin's vast Ethnological Museum, the Museum of Asian Art, and the Museum of European Cultures. After the non-European collections moved to the Humboldt Forum at the rebuilt Berlin Palace in 2019, only the Museum of European Cultures remained. Its permanent show, Cultural Contacts. Living in Europe, presents around 800 everyday objects from folk-costume shirts to a GDR-era DIY shelving unit. The building is heritage-protected. The surrounding villa quarter with the Botanical Garden and the Bruecke-Museum invites a walking tour.
