Nejsvětější Trojice

The Holy Trinity Column on Malostranské náměstí in Prague is a Baroque votive monument erected in 1713 in thanksgiving for the end of the plague epidemics that had repeatedly struck Bohemia in the early 18th century. Plague columns were a common form of collective devotion across Habsburg Central Europe, and Prague's example follows the tradition closely: a tiered stone pedestal bearing saintly figures surmounted by a gilded Trinity group. Classified as a Czech cultural monument, it stands today at the heart of Malá Strana between the Wallenstein Palace and the Charles Bridge, a quiet stone witness to a catastrophe the neighborhood once barely survived.
