Police Museum

The Hong Kong Police Museum occupies the former Wan Chai Gap Police Station perched high on Victoria Peak, telling the story of the Hong Kong Police Force from colonial constabulary to modern force. Founded in 1976, it documents the evolution of policing under British rule and after the 1997 handover. The most unusual gallery deals with the Triads: membership cards, ritual weapons and seized regalia open a window onto Chinese secret societies. Another wing covers the long fight against narcotics, from Opium War seizures to modern heroin labs. Visitors climb up to the peak station and wander rooms of uniforms, old service revolvers and case files from notorious crimes. Admission is free, and the hillside setting throws in a steep harbour view.
