Also known as: Castello di Tiraz
Tiraz Kale is a castle ruin near Göreme in the heart of Cappadocia, set against the region's distinctive volcanic tuff landscape. Little is formally documented about its founding or building history, but it fits the pattern of medieval fortifications raised across this strategically important corridor of central Anatolia — potentially Byzantine, Seljuk, or Karamanid in origin. The elevated position of the ruins offers views across the tufa cones and fairy chimneys of the Göreme plain.
