Pigeon valley trail

The Pigeon Valley trail winds from the town of Göreme through one of Cappadocia's most distinctive landscapes — past tuff-stone fairy chimneys and cave-cut pigeon houses that give the valley its name. The route toward Uçhisar is a leisurely trek of roughly 90 minutes round trip, offering close-up views of the erosion formations that define the region. Signage is sparse, and multiple visitors report getting lost at least once, so an offline map is strongly advised. Some sections involve steep, uneven terrain; sturdy footwear is recommended over sandals.
