Abdij Lilbosch

Abdij Lilbosch is a Trappist (Cistercian) monastery located in Echt, in the Dutch diocese of Roermond — geographically just across the German-Dutch border rather than in Aachen itself. The Trappists follow one of the strictest forms of Benedictine monastic life, organized around silence, communal prayer, and manual labor. Public access to the monastery grounds is limited; the abbey church opens for services, offering visitors a rare encounter with the contemplative atmosphere of an active cloistered community.
