Admonter Reichenstein

The Admonter Reichenstein is the highest and easternmost peak of the Reichenstein group in the Ennstaler Alps, part of the Gesäuse massif in Styria, Austria. Reaching the summit demands at least grade-II climbing on the UIAA scale, making it a destination for experienced alpinists rather than casual hikers. The mountain takes its name from Admont Abbey, the historic landowner that long dominated this corner of the Styrian Alps. Those who make the ascent are rewarded with an expansive ridgeline panorama across the Ennstaler Alps. Solid footwork, a head for exposure, and basic climbing gear are prerequisites for any attempt.
