Äußere Schwarze Schneide

The Äußere Schwarze Schneid is a 3,255-metre summit in the Ötztal Alps of Tyrol, Austria, situated southwest of the Gaislachkogel and north of the Venter Tal valley. It is one of the quieter high-alpine objectives in a region otherwise dominated by busy ski infrastructure, accessed from the valley village of Sölden. The ascent requires sure-footedness and experience in high-alpine terrain. From the summit, the reward is an unobstructed panorama across the glaciated three-thousanders of the Ötztal Alps, including views toward the Wildspitze, the highest peak in Tyrol.
