Afrikanische Straße
Metro Access
Amrumer Straße U-Bahn station opened on 28 August 1961 — just two weeks after construction of the Berlin Wall began on 13 August, making it a quiet footnote to one of the Cold War's most dramatic moments. The underground U9 station sits beneath Luxemburger Straße at its junction with Amrumer and Torfstraße in the Wedding district. It is a plain, functional postwar design with no distinctive architectural features. The station is wheelchair accessible and serves mainly as a day-to-day transit stop for Wedding residents heading toward Mitte or Steglitz.
