Art Gallery of Ontario

The Art Gallery of Ontario (AGO) ranks among the largest art museums in North America, with roughly 45,000 square metres of gallery space situated on the eastern edge of Toronto's Chinatown. Founded around 1900, it gained architectural prominence with Frank Gehry's 2008 expansion — the Canadian-American architect's curving wood-and-glass facade along Dundas Street West is now a neighborhood landmark in its own right. The collection is anchored by three pillars: Canadian painting including the Group of Seven, European old masters, and the world's most significant institutional holdings of Henry Moore sculptures, donated by the artist himself. The gallery stays open until 21:00 on Wednesdays and Fridays; it is closed on Mondays.
