Bloor-Yonge

Bloor-Yonge is Toronto's busiest subway interchange, sitting at the intersection of Bloor Street and Yonge Street — two of the city's most important thoroughfares. Opened in 1966, the station connects the east-west Bloor-Danforth line with the north-south Yonge-University line via stacked platforms, a design typical of postwar TTC construction. With over 400,000 daily riders recorded in 2018, it is the nerve center of the entire network; virtually no cross-town trip by transit avoids it. The surrounding street-level intersection marks the boundary between the upscale Yorkville district to the north and the downtown core to the south.
