Asine

Asine was an ancient settlement on Cape Kastraki in the Argolis region of the Peloponnese, close to the modern beach resort of Tolo. The site was likely inhabited as early as the Bronze Age and is mentioned by Homer in the Iliad. Protected as a Greek cultural monument, the headland today offers open views across the Bay of Nafplion and the surrounding Argolic hills. Swedish-led excavations in the early 20th century uncovered wall remains and pottery spanning Mycenaean through Hellenistic periods, though the site remains little-visited and largely unexcavated compared to major Peloponnesian sites.
