Almaty-1 railway station

Almaty-1 is one of two major railway stations in the Kazakh city of Almaty, operated by the national carrier Kazakhstan Temir Zholy. Opened in 1929 during the early Soviet consolidation of the region, the station likely reflects the monumental architectural ambitions of that era. It serves long-distance rail connections across Kazakhstan and into neighbouring countries, though it functions as the secondary hub to the more centrally located Almaty-2 station.
