Railway HistoryRailway Station
Also known as: Bahnbetriebswerk Freilassing, Freilassing
Freilassing station is the final German stop on the Munich–Salzburg corridor and the official border station between Germany and Austria. Three railways converge here: the main Rosenheim–Salzburg line, the branch from Mühldorf, and the spur to Bad Reichenhall in the Berchtesgaden highlands. With nine platform tracks and a Deutsche Bahn category 3 classification, the station retains its historical importance as a junction point at the edge of Bavaria.
