Balduinbrücke

The Balduinbrücke is a medieval stone arch bridge spanning the Mosel in Koblenz, the oldest surviving bridge in the city. Construction began in the 14th century under the Archbishop-Elector of Trier, Balduin of Luxembourg, whose name the bridge still carries. Sitting at Mosel kilometre 1.04, it is the final bridge before the river meets the Rhine at the Deutsches Eck — a position that makes it both a practical crossing and a scenic vantage point over two of the region's defining waterways. Though modified considerably over the centuries, the bridge's rubble-stone arch structure retains its medieval character and is listed as a protected cultural monument. It connects Koblenz's old town to the northern district of Lützel and is a quiet, unhurried crossing for pedestrians and cyclists alike.
