Barystraße (München)

Barystraße is a quiet residential street in Munich's Obermenzing district, laid out around 1897 and named after Alfred von Bary (1873–1926) — a physician who pursued a celebrated parallel career as an operatic heldentenor, performing at the Dresden Court Opera and the Metropolitan Opera in New York. A modest neighbourhood street carrying the memory of an unusual figure who mastered two demanding professions simultaneously.
