Bastejkalns Park

Bastejkalns is a green park at the northeastern edge of Riga's old town, occupying the site of the former bastion earthworks that once formed part of the city's medieval defences. In the 19th century, as Riga dismantled its old fortifications, the ramparts were reshaped into a public promenade park. Today it offers shaded walking paths that follow the old bastion contours and views toward the old town skyline — a quiet retreat a short walk from the historic centre.
