Taunusanlage

The Taunusanlage is a linear park running through Frankfurt's inner city, stretching from the main train station toward the Gallusanlage as part of the city's inner green belt. It follows the line of Frankfurt's old fortifications, which were demolished in the early 19th century and converted into public promenades — a common urban planning move of the Biedermeier era. Several sculptures and monuments are placed along the tree-lined avenue, set against the backdrop of the banking district's glass towers. Today it functions primarily as a green commuter shortcut and lunch-break destination, as well as a calm jogging and cycling route cutting through the financial quarter.
