Bauschänzli

Also known as: Ravelin Kratz, Bauschanzli, Bauschanze

Bauschänzli is one of the last surviving remnants of Zurich's 17th-century Baroque fortifications — an artificial island shaped as a ravelin at the point where the Limmat leaves Lake Zurich. Since 1907 it has doubled as an open-air restaurant and public square.
