Kriegshoven Castle
Burg Kriegshoven is a moated castle in the Rhein-Sieg district of North Rhine-Westphalia, situated roughly one kilometer northwest of the village of Heimerzheim and protected as a listed monument. It is approached via an old chestnut avenue that frames the castle against the flat pre-Eifel landscape, giving the site a quietly secluded character. Public documentation on its construction date, original lords, and current use is sparse; the visual ensemble of moat, tree-lined approach, and medieval castle structure is the main draw for visitors passing through the area.
