German Center for Neurodegenerative Diseases

Also known as: Deutsches Zentrum für Neurodegenerative Erkrankungen e. V., DZNE

The German Centre for Neurodegenerative Diseases, the DZNE, is a research institution founded in 2009 with its headquarters on the Venusberg in Bonn next to the university hospital. Part of the Helmholtz Association, it ties together ten sites across Germany dedicated to Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, ALS and related conditions. It is not a classic visitor destination but a research campus of labs and cohort studies, although it regularly opens up for events such as World Alzheimer's Day or open-house days.
