Döbling Parish Church

The Doebling parish church of Saint Paul in Oberdoebling stands on Kardinal-Innitzer-Platz in Vienna's 19th district. The present building in Biedermeier-classicist style went up in the 1820s on the site of a 13th-century medieval predecessor; the pale main facade with its two flanking towers shapes the former village green. The church is heritage-listed and belongs to the Archdiocese of Vienna. Inside the simple hall layout and the high altar by Joseph Klieber are typical of early Nazarene Viennese church design. Arriving on tram 37 you find a quiet, understated parish church - and a short walk to the Beethoven memorial sites of Doebling.
