Müschpark

Müschpark is an 11-hectare landscape park at the northern foot of the Lousberg hill in Aachen, laid out between 1803 and 1814 on the orders of Wilhelm Körfgen, secretary-general of the French administration then governing the region. The design followed the Ferme Ornée model — a rare garden typology originating in English landscape theory that blends ornamental parkland with working farmland. The park takes its name from the adjacent Gut Müsch estate, which borders the Kloster St. Raphael monastery. Privately owned until 2005, it was transferred to the city of Aachen and opened to the public. Today it sits within a protected landscape zone and offers walkers and joggers a quiet, leafy retreat on the city's edge.
