Kloster St. Raphael

Kloster St. Raphael in Aachen's Soers district was consecrated in 1903 as a convent of the Daughters of the Holy Cross, serving first as a welfare home and later as an elderly care facility for around seventy years. After the religious community withdrew in 2003, the listed Gründerzeit complex was sold in 2007 and underwent renovation from 2009 onward. The site is now a residential development called Raphaelhöfe Soers, where the restored convent building and its chapel stand alongside modern apartment blocks — the chapel remains the sole visible trace of the complex's ecclesiastical past.
