Ürgüp Erhan Ayata Güzel Atlar Sergisi-Müze Cafe

The Erhan Ayata Güzel Atlar Sergisi is a small private museum and art gallery in Ürgüp, Cappadocia, dedicated entirely to the horse as artistic subject. Local sculptor and artist Erhan Ayata fills the ground floor with his own sculptures, paintings, and artifacts — a fitting tribute to a region whose ancient Persian name, Kappadokia, literally meant 'Land of Beautiful Horses'. Several works are available for purchase. Upstairs, a modest rooftop terrace café serves good coffee at low prices with open views across the Ürgüp townscape. Entry to the museum is free, making it an easy and unhurried stop in between Cappadocia's larger sights.
