The Brunsberg, at around 129 metres, is one of the most prominent hills on the northwestern edge of the Lüneburg Heath, near Buchholz in der Nordheide and Tostedt. It sits within the Brunsberg Nature Reserve (approximately 60 hectares), established to protect the characteristic heath and woodland landscape. The summit offers views across the North German Plain. Walking and cycling trails criss-cross the area; in late summer the heather blooms purple, making it a popular day-trip destination.

Galopprennbahn Hamburg-Horn

The Galopprennbahn Hamburg-Horn, commonly known as Horner Rennbahn, is Germany's oldest horse racing track, opened in 1855 in the Horn district of Hamburg. With a capacity of up to 50,000 spectators, it is home to the Deutsches Derby (German Derby), held here annually since 1869 — the most prestigious flat race in German thoroughbred racing. Races run over distances ranging from 1,000 to 3,600 metres. The local U-Bahn station and street are both named after the racetrack, reflecting its deep roots in the neighborhood's identity. Today the venue hosts race meetings throughout the season and also serves as a large open-air event space.
