Borgweg (Stadtpark)

Borgweg station sits on the steel viaduct of Hamburg's U3 elevated rail line in the Winterhude district, a structure listed as a Kulturdenkmal under German heritage law. The U3 opened in 1912 as one of Germany's earliest urban elevated railways, and its ring-shaped viaduct remains a defining feature of Hamburg's northern inner city. The station functions as the step-free gateway to the sprawling Stadtpark, home to the city's landmark Planetarium and broad meadow grounds. Around 13,000 weekday passengers pass through, and the elevated platforms offer an unusual rooftop-level perspective across Winterhude's residential streets below.
