Drachenfels castle
Bonn
architecture
Bonn's architectural landscape spans many centuries and reaches well beyond the city centre. The ruined Drachenfels and the neo-Gothic Schloss Drachenburg define the skyline of the Siebengebirge hills, while Ordensburg Vogelsang in the Eifel stands as a sobering monument of 20th-century history. Benediktinerabtei Maria Laach and Abtei Marienstatt represent the region's Romanesque and Gothic monastic traditions. Within the city, the Alter Friedhof Bonn, the Basilika St. Potentinus, Felicius und Simplicius, and the railway stations of Bonn-Bad Godesberg, Bonn-Beuel and Bonn-Mehlem each offer their own architectural character. The Victor-Neels-Brücke rounds out the picture with a fine example of civil engineering.

Sechtem station is the railway halt for the Bornheim district of Sechtem, situated on the left-bank Rhine route between Cologne, Koblenz, and Mainz. The station building is a listed monument, making it one of the few surviving historic platform buildings along this important rail corridor. With three platform tracks, Sechtem operates as a through station serving commuters between Bonn and Cologne. For railway enthusiasts and heritage lovers, the building offers an unassuming but well-preserved example of 19th-century Prussian station architecture in a quiet suburban setting.
