Aiguille Noire de Peuterey

The Aiguille Noire de Peuterey rises to 3,773 m in the southern Mont Blanc massif above Courmayeur in the Aosta Valley. It forms one of the most striking towers of the Peuterey Ridge, widely regarded as one of the longest and most demanding rock ridges in the Alps. Two celebrated classic routes lead to the summit — among them the South Ridge, one of the most storied alpine rock climbs on the continent, drawing experienced alpinists for decades. The approach alone demands altitude experience; the summit push is exposed high-alpine granite climbing unsuitable for casual hikers. Those who reach the top are rewarded with an unobstructed panorama of the southern Mont Blanc massif, with the Grandes Jorasses and the Brenva face within striking visual range.
