Aiguille de Chardonnet

The Aiguille du Chardonnet is a 3,824 m granite peak in the Mont-Blanc massif, sitting roughly 500 metres from the French-Swiss border above the Argentière valley. It is strictly a mountaineering objective — every route requires glacier travel, crampons, and rope work. The most frequented line is the Forbes Arête on the southwest ridge, a classic alpine mixed route approached from the Refuge du Tour. On clear days the summit offers sweeping views across the Argentière basin toward Mont Blanc and the Swiss Alps. The peak also features on the agenda of ski mountaineers following the Haute Route between Chamonix and Zermatt.
