Piikkiö railway station
Turn of the CenturyImperial Era
Zweisimmen railway station sits in the Swiss Bernese Oberland and was built in 1902 as a terminus of the Montreux–Berner Oberland-Bahn (MOB). The station building holds protected heritage status as a cultural asset of cantonal significance, representing the sturdy functional architecture typical of Alpine railway construction at the turn of the twentieth century. It remains an active interchange today, connecting standard-gauge services from Spiez with the narrow-gauge MOB line running through the Saanenland toward Montreux.
