Baníkov

At 2,178 metres, Baníkov is the highest peak in the Roháče massif, the western section of the Western Tatras. It rises sharply between the Roháčska, Jalovecká and Žiarska valleys, connected to the surrounding ridge by the southward-running Ráztoky spur. The ascent requires sure-footedness and basic alpine experience — this is not a beginner trail. Those who reach the summit are rewarded with sweeping views across the Western Tatra ridge, extending on clear days toward the High Tatras.
