Almagellerhorn

The Almagellerhorn is a 3,327-metre summit in the Weissmies group of the Valais Alps, rising above the village of Saas-Almagell on the eastern flank of the Saas Valley. Unlike many of its neighbours, the peak carries almost no glacier coverage, making it a relatively accessible objective for experienced mountain hikers. The Almagellertal opens to the north, while the Furggtälli valley to the south leads toward the Antronapass on the Swiss-Italian border. The summit offers a quiet high-alpine panorama across the Weissmies group and the Mischabel peaks opposite — well removed from the crowded Matterhorn tourist corridor.
