Bec des Rosses

The Bec des Rosses is a striking peak in the Swiss Valais Alps, rising to around 3,200 metres above the resort of Verbier. Its northwest face is one of the most notorious steep descents in the Alps: gradients of up to 55 degrees and broad rock slabs make it a regular stop on the Freeride World Tour, drawing elite skiers and snowboarders each winter. In summer the mountain offers serious alpine climbing on exposed terrain. Those who reach the summit are rewarded with an expansive view across the Valais four-thousanders, from the Grand Combin to Mont Blanc.
