Belfast International Airport

Belfast International Airport, located near Aldergrove some 30 kilometres northwest of the city centre, is the larger of Belfast's two commercial airports. What sets it apart from most European civil airports is its continued dual function as a UK military airfield, officially designated Joint Helicopter Command Flying Station Aldergrove — a legacy of Northern Ireland's strategic role during the Troubles and Cold War era. For travellers it serves as the main gateway into Northern Ireland, with connections to a range of European destinations.
