The Bellavista is a glaciated ridge in the Bernina massif, straddling the Swiss-Italian border immediately west of Piz Palü and culminating in four summits. The main peak sits within a continuous high-alpine terrain of firn and glacier ice between the Fuorcla Bellavista and the Pass dal Zupò, requiring mountaineering experience and appropriate equipment to access. Clear days yield a sweeping panorama across the Morteratsch Glacier, Piz Bernina, and — on the best conditions — as far as the Dolomites. Ski mountaineers are drawn to the area in spring when stable snowpack allows long glacier descents back toward the Engadine valley.
