Besler

The Besler is a 1,679 m summit in the Allgäu Alps, rising directly south of Sonthofen in Bavaria's Oberallgäu district. Despite its modest elevation by alpine standards, it rewards hikers with an expansive panorama across the southern Allgäu, the Nagelfluh ridge, and on clear days the higher alpine chains further south. The ascent passes through typical Allgäu forest before opening onto alpine meadows near the top. Its relatively short approach from the Iller valley makes it a popular half-day outing for locals and visitors alike.
