Bockkarkopf

The Bockkarkopf rises to 2,609 metres as the ninth-highest summit in the Allgäu Alps, positioned along the main ridge between the Wilder Mann to the southwest and the Hochfrottspitze to the northeast. It takes its name from the Hinteres Bockkar, the cirque carved into its southern flank. The peak is a landmark stop on the Heilbronner Weg, one of the most frequented high-alpine ridge routes in the Allgäu, demanding sure-footedness and a head for heights across exposed terrain. Clear days reward climbers with sweeping panoramic views across the Allgäu lowlands and toward the surrounding three-thousanders of the Lechtaler Alps. It is not suitable for inexperienced hikers.
