Botanical Garden

Copenhagen's Botanical Garden is part of the University of Copenhagen and, together with the Geological and Zoological museums, forms Denmark's Natural History Museum complex. Founded in 1600, it is one of the oldest botanical gardens in northern Europe and holds protected cultural heritage status. Set within the city's historic rampart landscape immediately beside the King's Garden, it functions simultaneously as a scientific research institution and a free public park. Historic glasshouses shelter tropical and subtropical plant collections. Open year-round with no admission charge, closing at 18:00 in summer and 16:00 during the winter months.
