Bridge Street

The East Linton Bridge, also known as the Old Tyne Bridge, crosses the River Tyne in the small East Lothian village of East Linton. Built around 1560, it is one of Scotland's oldest surviving stone bridges, constructed during a period when the village served as an important crossing point on the road east of Edinburgh. In 1971 it was listed at Category A — Scotland's highest level of heritage protection, reserved for structures of special architectural or historic interest. Today it offers a quiet riverside setting and a rare, intact glimpse of Renaissance-era Scottish masonry.
