Bruno Weber Park

The Bruno Weber Park near Spreitenbach and Dietikon is a walkable total artwork by Swiss sculptor Bruno Weber, who shaped the grounds from 1962 until his death in 2011, nearly fifty years of continuous building. On former pastureland he created oversized hybrid creatures, dragons, bird deities and an inhabitable water garden tower of reinforced concrete and coloured mosaic shards, reminiscent of Antoni Gaudi and Niki de Saint Phalle. Weber and his wife Mariann lived in the middle of the fantastical compound and welcomed visitors in person. Since his death the Bruno Weber Foundation has maintained the park. Families and photographers wander through mosaic bridges, lizard sculptures and beneath the long swan-headed columns of the water garden.
