Also known as: Haus der Zukunft
The Futurium is a Berlin museum that opened in 2019 right next to the government quarter on the Spree, jointly funded by the federal government, science organisations and foundations. It is dedicated entirely to the question of how we want to live, work and shape our environment in the future, and is conceived not as a collection but as a discussion space with rotating interactive hands-on stations on energy, mobility, food and the city. The building by Richter Musikowski, with its sweeping folded aluminium facade, is itself a statement on the energy transition, operating largely energy-neutral. Admission is free, and a rooftop skywalk offers a view across to the main station and the Charite tower.
