Cheung Kong Center

Cheung Kong Center is a 283-metre office tower in Hong Kong's Central district and the city's eighth tallest building. Designed by Argentine-American architect Cesar Pelli, who also produced the Petronas Towers in Kuala Lumpur, it was completed in 1999. The tower stands between the HSBC Main Building and the Bank of China Tower and completes the most iconic axis of the Hong Kong skyline. It was commissioned by tycoon Li Ka-shing, whose Cheung Kong Holdings gave the building its name. Its 62 floors house banks and consultancies including Goldman Sachs and McKinsey. Architecturally it is notable for its even, finely detailed glass facades and the illuminated glass-clad rooftop feature, which changes colour at night. For visitors the best views are from Cotton Tree Drive or the adjacent Hong Kong Park; the interior is not accessible to the public.
