Bow Road
Turn of the CenturyListed Building
Completed in 1910 at 207 West Hastings Street in Vancouver's Gastown district, the Dominion Building was the tallest structure in the British Empire west of Toronto upon its opening. Designed in the Second Empire style, it features a distinctive mansard roof and ornate Edwardian facade detailing — a rare example of this architectural tradition on Canada's Pacific coast. The building reflects Vancouver's rapid growth as a port city in the early twentieth century and remains a landmark presence in the historic Gastown neighborhood.
