The Kapadokya Yaşayan Miras Müzesi (Cappadocia Living Heritage Museum) occupies the restored Dr. Hacı Nuri Bey Konağı, a distinguished 19th-century Ottoman mansion in Avanos, a pottery town on the banks of the Kızılırmak River. Spread across three floors, the museum recreates traditional Anatolian domestic life through period-furnished rooms — sleeping quarters, reception halls, and everyday spaces — giving a grounded sense of how local families actually lived. A particular focus falls on women's textile crafts: hand-woven carpets and embroidery are displayed in their original domestic context rather than in sterile vitrines.
