SANAT KORDONU

Sanat Kordonu — 'Art Cordon' in Turkish — is a well-kept riverside promenade along the Kızılırmak River near Göreme, in the heart of Cappadocia. The path runs along the water's edge and is lined with outdoor art installations, giving local and regional artists a public platform in an accessible open-air setting. A distinctive feature is the row of underground shops carved into the soft tuff rock, echoing Cappadocia's long tradition of cave architecture in a contemporary retail context. Cafés and small eateries dot the walkway, and the route leads to a bridge at its far end. Göreme itself is roughly ten minutes away, making this a relaxed starting point before heading into the broader Cappadocian landscape.
